Donate to the ReStore

Donations can beĀ dropped off any Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday during store hours – 10 am to 5 pm.

Pickup/Delivery is available for a fee. Please call us at 641-209-9450.

If you aren’t sure about what things we will accept, call us and ask. Or check to see if it is on the following list.

Remember: All items must be in good working order, clean, and ready to use. ReStore reserves the right to refuse donations that don’t meet ReStore standards. If you aren’t sure about the quality or condition of your items or it isn’t on our list, call us at 209-9450 and ask.

ReStore accepts the following materials:

  • Adhesives – new and unopened only
  • Appliances – stoves, cooktops, ovens, washers, dryers, fridges, dishwashers, microwaves, furnaces, heat pumps, window A/C’s, water
  • heaters – must be in working condition and not too old
  • Asphalt Products – in original packaging
  • Bath Accessories – towel bars, TP holders, soap dishes, handicap grab bars & supports
  • Bathtubs
  • Blinds
  • Bricks & Blocks – full pieces only
  • Cabinets: Bases, Uppers, Doors, Drawers, Faces, Hardware
  • Carpeting and Area Rugs – new preferred; if used must be shampooed, stain and odor free
  • Caulk – new, unopened and not expired
  • Ceiling Fans
  • Ceiling Tile and Accessories
  • Ceramic Tile
  • Doors of all kinds
  • Drywall & Accessories
  • Electrical Supplies – up to date, no corrosion or rust
  • Fencing – chain link, wooden, vinyl, posts, wire
  • Fireplaces & Accessories
  • Flooring
  • Furniture – must be in good condition; minimal stains or tears
  • Garage Doors and Accessories
  • Garden Tools and Accessories
  • Hardware – door locks and knobs, hinges, nails & screws, misc.
  • Household furnishings – framed pictures, vases, knickknacks, baskets, etc.
  • HVAC – furnaces, A/C’s, etc.
  • Insulation
  • Lawn Tools & Equipment
  • Light Fixtures – fully functional (don’t bring fluorescent bulbs please)
  • Lumber – sheets, trim, dimensional
  • Mirrors – no chips, cracks, discoloration
  • Nails and Screws
  • Office furniture, equipment and supplies – equipment must be in working order
  • Paint – containers should be at least half full and clearly marked; no rusting; not previously frozen
  • Patio Furniture
  • Plumbing Supplies
  • Railings – wrought iron, wooden
  • Shelving
  • Shingles – no asbestos; must be manufactured after 1980
  • Showers – kits, bases, panel sets, enclosures, doors
  • Shutters
  • Siding – vinyl must be new; no asbestos
  • Sinks – kitchen, bathroom, vanity tops, pedestals, mop sinks
  • Stone – wall, veneer and landscape
  • Swing Sets & Play Sets – must be complete with all parts, with assembly instructions
  • Toilets – clean, no chips or cracks, complete sets
  • Tools – hand, power (generally less than 10 years old), gas powered
  • Trim, Moulding, & Millwork – 4 feet or longer; good condition
  • Wallpaper – new only
  • Windows – single/double-hung
