Guidelines for Donated Items
The Habitat ReStore is a community resource for recycling new and used building materials, furniture and household goods back into the community instead of landfills, while simultaneously supporting Habitat for Humanity’s effort to combat poverty housing in our area.
We rely on donations from residents and resell them back into the community at affordable prices. The proceeds go to Greater Fairfield Area Habitat for Humanity to build houses. Items must be in good working order, clean and ready to use. If you have something that isn’t on this list, it may still be acceptable. Check with Fairfield Habitat at (641) 209-9450 or 1903 Business Hwy 34 in Fairfield.

Thank you for supporting Greater Fairfield Area Habitat for Humanity!
Thank you
Building twelve houses in Fairfield in 11 years is a miracle. Or is it?
When you break down the process of building a house board by board, so to speak, then you realize that it was not an overnight success story. While we sometimes have large donations of money or appliances, there are many, many more smaller donations. There are multiple sacrifices, acts of kindness, prayers and helping hands that make up a miracle.
We want to send a big THANK YOU to our volunteers who come from churches, schools, the community and even some from far away places to help us.
A big THANK YOU also to local donors who are helping us realize our goal of $75,000 for our next build. Our next house will cost $90,000 and we’ve raised $23,000 already.
In addition to the many local donors who help us realize our goal of building safe homes for people in Fairfield, these are some national donors who have helped us.
- Whirlpool has donated 8 new refrigerators and 8 new ranges.
- Yale Locks provided door knobs for 15 doors.
- Valspar Paint donated 25 gallons of primer and paint. Valspar is donating all the paint for the next house.
- Dow donated foam insulation used on 6 new houses.
- Hunter Douglas sent us blinds for 17 bedroom windows.
- Taco John’s, Kentucky Fried chicken, Burger King, Pizza Hut, Breadeaux Pizza are restaurants that fed hungry volunteers.
A heartfelt thanks to all our donors and volunteers. You are what make Greater Fairfield Area HFH possible.
